July 2024 - Present
Associate Editor-NZSR, New Zealand
May 2024 - August 2024
Postdoctoral Researcher-GNS Science, New Zealand
Researched heat harvesting technologies for low enthalpy geothermal sources.
January 2024 - April 2024
Data Analyst Intern-MBIE, New Zealand
Contributed to the 'Extreme Weather Research in Aotearoa New Zealand' project. Conducted a comprehensive review of the NZ extreme weather research landscape, analysed data from the MBIE-led database, and generated insights into NZ's research capability. During my internship, I actively contributed to the 'Extreme Weather Research in Aotearoa New Zealand' project, where I conducted in-depth analyses of data from the MBIE-led Extreme Weather Research Database (EWRD). This experience has enhanced my understanding of climate change, weather response activities, and government funding mechanisms in New Zealand. Moreover, it strengthened my ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, to generate valuable insights and recommendations.
December 2020 - December 2024
PhD Candidate-GNS Science & RRI VUW, New Zealand
Developed technology to tailor the magnetic properties of magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using ion irradiation. My research involves using ion irradiation to tune the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy of the MTJs, with the goal of fabricating a voltage tunable magnetic sensor. Through my research, I have gained expertise in various techniques such as ion irradiation, transmission electron microscopy, Magneto Optical Kerr Effect Microscopy, and SQUID vibrating sample magnetometry. This work is in collaboration with the Robinson Research Institute, Victoria University of Wellington to develop and fabricate the MTJ with voltage tunable sensing axis.
July 2022-June2023
Physics Tutor/Demonstrator- VUW, New Zealand
Assisted professors with practice sessions and marking, and conducted individual helpdesk sessions to help students with their doubts for the PHYS115, PHYS101, and ENGS141 classes. My role involved working closely with professors to deliver effective teaching strategies and materials, as well as providing one-on-one support to students to help them understand and apply key concepts.
December 2019- June 2020
Research Intern, Thermomagnetic Generator - GNS Science, New Zealand
Fabricated a thermomagnetic nanogenerator to extract energy from waste heat sources. Permalloy nanoparticles were deposited using Argon plasma sputtering at GNS Science and analyzed using SQUID magnetometer.
